Stand Firm in Your Faith

Hi Everyone,
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.   Joshua 1:9
If you're anything like me, it feels like our faith is being attacked today from every angle.  Sometimes we think that standing up for our faith means doing something big and dramatic.  But the truth is that simply being faithful in our daily choices and actions is just as important.  Here are a few ideas to help you and I stand firm in our faith while our culture spins out-of-control.
  1.  Share Our Story:  I don't know about you, but I am always inspired when I hear about God working in someone's life.  God works in our lives so that His name will be glorified and widespread.  Today, let's tell someone about a way God has worked in our lives.
  1.  Forsake Vengeance:  God's Word reminds us over and over to stay away from seeking vengeance, but instead to pursue peace.  We are called to love, care, and show generosity.  When we leave vengeance to the Lord, we can better follow His leading.  Is there anyone we need to approach with a more charitable attitude?
  1.  Be a Refuge:  As the receivers of God's great mercy, we ought to be a place of refuge for those who carry the heavy burden of tragedy.  How can our home or life be a sanctuary for those who need mercy from God and the world?  Let's be on the lookout for those who need a safe place.
4.  Embrace Our Influence:  Whether we realize it or not, as followers of Christ, we are leaders!  In our business, our neighborhood, or our family, we have the potential in Christ to influence those
around us.  People are watching us.  They see how we conduct ourselves.  Let's make it our goal to be a godly leader to those around us.

In this Year of Living Dangerously, I truly believe that living out these four simple ideas can have a profound and positive impact for Christ in the chaotic world in which we live!
Yours in Christ,
